DriveVR5
DriveVR5 is a browser-based driving experience built for WebXR. Cruise a winding dirt road through the forest. Play in VR on Meta Quest, or drive from your desktop — no install required.
This is the forest-road edition of the DriveVR series: a focused, performance-tuned fork built around a single outdoor environment instead of the city maps in earlier versions.
Features
- Free roam — explore a forest dirt-road scene with physics-based car handling (Bullet/Ammo.js)
- VR & desktop — thumbsticks or WASD to drive; grab the steering wheel in VR for hands-on control
- Multiplayer — join lobbies and drive with others (PeerJS)
- Rearview mirror — glance behind while driving (toggle in menu)
- Atmosphere — forest fog, EXR image-based lighting, and optional background music
- Quest-friendly — tuned render budget, fog, and AI limits for smooth WebXR on standalone headsets
How to play
Open the game in a WebGL-capable browser. For VR, use a WebXR-compatible browser on Meta Quest (or another supported headset) and click Enter VR.
A local web server is recommended if you run the files from disk. Click Start on the splash screen once loading finishes.
Enjoy ;-)
